Project C.O.R.E. will utilize competency-based instruction with performance-based plans for each student. All participating students will have individualized education plans with instructional objectives to guide their progress.
Beginning with the 2006-2007 school year, Project C.O.R.E. will function as a school within a school. Flexible and block scheduling will be key components of the program. Students will have the benefit of a pre-determined curriculum designed to keep them on track for graduation, as well as to provide intensive intervention services during the school day, as well as outside of school hours. Curricula design will integrate and incorporate Service Learning and leadership activities, vocational skills, mentoring, and job shadowing activities to provide students an opportunity to prepare for the workplace and the academic world beyond high school.
